Many new Webmasters try to do almost everything for free. While it's certainly possible to accomplish a lot with little or no monetary investment online, the fact is you'll struggle to reach your optimal traffic goals without at least some advertising budget.

There are numerous free traffic generation tactics you can leverage. You would be remiss in neglecting these, as they can help you drive a substantial flow of quality visitors to your Web pages and blog posts.

But there's just no way around it: If you really want your business to be as successful as possible you need to invest in a few good paid traffic sources.

The advantage of paid traffic over free traffic is twofold:

1. When you buy advertising and/or traffic you can often create an immediate flow of visitors, whereas many free resources take time to begin working.
2. Often the prospects you generate with paid methods are of a higher quality than those acquired through free tactics.

You'll find a wide range of paid traffic generation devices to choose from. But before deciding on specific methods you just need to define your budget and get into the proper frame of mind.

When choosing your budget, be honest with yourself. Don't put yourself at risk by using your rent money to buy traffic.

At the same time, the more you can invest, the more quickly your traffic can grow. So think in positive terms about how much you can put into this.

Even If you can only spend $50 per month on traffic in the beginning, that's fine. At least you are making a start, and over time you can invest some of the profits you create into additional traffic generation.
