<area>
The <area> tag defines an area within an image map. The area tag contains many attributes to define the shape and location of the region. The ALT attribute is required in order to provide alternative information to those browsers that do not support image mapping.

Attributes
alt
Value(s) : alternative text
This attribute will set alternative text to display for a particular area of your map.
coords
Value(s) : for shape="rect"
coord="left,top,right,bottom"

for shape="circ"
coords="centerx,centery,radius

shape="poly"
coords="x1,y1,x2,y2,...,xn,yn"
This will set the coordinates of a specific shape within your image map to make that area clickable.
href
Value(s) : URL
The HREF attribute sets the target link or url for the specified area.
nohref
Value(s) : true | false
This attribute will disable a link to a specific area of your image map.
shape
Value(s) : rect | rectangle | circ | circle | poly | polygon
This sets the type of shape of the area.
target
Value(s) : _blank | _parent | _self | _top
This sets the target location for the link of your HREF attribute.
